I always thought the more blades were better, but after shaving with both the Mach3 I was very impressed. The Mach 3 has three blades as you can imagine based on the name compared to Gillette Fusion it’s 5 blade brother. The Mach3 blades are far enough apart to not get clogged and it just provides a great shave. The razor can be purchased for less than $10 bucks, but only comes with one cartridge.
Buying more cartridges is a must and the more you buy the less per cartridge. Be careful on Amazon and only buy from Gillette. It seems that many sellers are selling cartridges for much less, but they are coming from Mexico, Brazil and other places and people get less than what they paid for and knock off’s in some cases. Gillette Fusion Proglide Power Razor With Flexball Handle Technology With 1 Razor Blade for Men
This is a 5 blade razor with the latest flex ball handle. This is in the fusion family of Gillette razors. All of them are 5 blades and either have flexball or not and either silvertouch or not and powered or not. There are many choices and confused me for a long time. If you don’t care about the color Silver or Black, then you can get the one above for around $10. I really like this razor also, but for shaving my head I prefer the Mach 3 over the Fusion. The good thing about the flex ball is that it will conform to your head better if you are an inexperienced head shaver and this option is not available on the Mach series. This is also a power version, which means that it will vibrate I personally don’t care to use this feature.
Don’t forget the extra cartridges here too. The Fusion 5 blades are a bit more expensive than the 3 blade Mach’s. They are $3.50 – $4 per cartridge.
